Lakers Lose, Boston Still Sucks
Ok, someone explain to me how this all worked out. The Lakers came into the NBA Finals this year with a clear advantage over the Celtics: their superstar player was playing out of his mind yet again, their supporting cast was filling the roles of pesky defender, clutch shooter/rebounder, annoying 13th Man on the bench, and their coach was matched up against one of the most overrated coaches in league history. And they lost. Not only lost, but got smoked out of the building. I mean, who takes the blame for this epic failure, Kobe, ZenMan, WispyPornStar Gasol, Farmer (cuz that’s how his name clearly should be spelled), or the Lakers fans? After this series, I blame the loss on two characters - the Lakers crowd and Kobe. Now, I’m not going to run into the ground the analysis that ESPN and CNNSI and Fox Sports are doing on Kobe’s failures or Bill Simmons’ spot-on take about the absolute patheticness of the Lakers crowd, but I will say this: the Lakers fans should be absolutely ashamed of what they just did. Fans are supposed to support their team win or lose and the turnout from those clowns was AWFUL. I mean, I hate the fans that that are convinced they will win the championship yearly (cough, Redskins/Philadelphia fans, cough), but lackadaiscality is just a horrible, horrible characteristic for fan support. You know what? I hate Boston to the utmost degree, but I’m glad that they won, just to spite the bastards who can pay 1000 bucks for those damn seats at the Staples Center. I’m announcing a campaign for one home game in the future, that the visiting fans outnumber the Lakers fans, thereby embarrassing the “classiest”franchises in the NBA and forcing the hometown fans to put upor shut up. Kobe, you just plain suck and will never be Jordan, just an average superstar the likes of which haven’t been seen since David Robinson.
