Random Story of the Week

Published by argyros at 9:39 am under Random Thoughts Edit This

I have absolutely nothing to say today so how about a story?

Last summer, I went with two couples to a Kenny Chesney concert at Nissan Pavilion. Why I went, I still have no idea, considering I was the odd-man-out in the group, the Fifth Wheel, if you will. I also did not have a ticket. Hopefully, someone down there would have an extra ticket that I could buy off them, expecting it to be around 50 bucks (since I was basically scalping). I wandered the parking lots, screaming if anyone had an extra ticket; lo and behold, a guy wearing a cowboy hat and no shirt said he did, and that he would give it to me for free if I could outdrink him. I was down for the challenge so we went for it. Shot after shot of Crown Royal. Things went well for the first couple, but after the 5th one, I had to retire.

The guy responded, “Hold on.” Then he proceeded to do four shots Super Troopers style, one right after another.

“Well, you impressed me so I’ll give you the ticket for 30 bucks.”

“Deal.”

And just like that, I had gotten a ticket about 20 dollars less than what I would have spent buying it prior to the day of. Moral of the story: get the cheap tickets the day of, and enjoy the rest of the concert. I know I did.
